A Little About Our Company...and web stores. We are a family-owned business based on Long Island, New York... close to bustling Manhattan and far enough away to find those hidden treasures in country attics. We're always looking for special vintage items and current collectibles that we can pass along to you at fair prices. Our items are priced for collectors, dealers and decorators too!
We started our interest in antique and collectibles in the mid-1980's... first as a hobby and a means of affordably decorating our own home and later, in 1990, we decided to turn our hobby into a business. We started with exhibitions at local area antique shows, moved on to renting booth and showcase space in antique malls throughout New York and New England, and eventually we settled on selling in the global antique marketplace via the web.
The Growing Years:
We have gone through many changes since creating our first website on the internet. Our company, Mamie's Rich Memories, started as a general antiques and collectibles shop... much like you would find along quaint country roads cutting through small towns. We sold a wide array of interesting items from antique porcelain to 50's nostalgia and decorative collectibles for the home.
Our business is named after my Grandmother, Mamie Ricciutti, who was known as Mamie Rich. (1883-1963). She loved beautiful things- from plates to linens to pictures to crystal and created a home filled with comfort, love and memories.
The Here and Now:
Today we continue to operate our general antique business at www.mamierich.com. Here you will find an interesting variety of porcelain, pottery, glass, ephemera, toys, knick-knacks, etc. You will notice that our shop is organized into small nooks and crannies named after some of our favorite people/collectors. Feel free to browse through all of our "rooms" as we change our inventory frequently.
We purchase from collectors, estates, and auctions to bring a mix of the old and the new. While we don't specialize, we do offer many collector plates including series from Gone With the Wind, Thomas Kinkade, Avon Christmas, The Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Sandra Kuck, plus other plate collections of interest. These make wonderful home decorations and nice gift ideas too. Lots to browse.
In addition to our general line of antiques and collectibles, we specialize in the art of Norman Rockwell. Our site, www.rockwellplates.com features authenticated collectibles, primarily collector plates, that reflect the timeless work of this American artist and illustrator. We invite you to browse this site when looking for that special item for your collection.
Our Future Plans:
We are currently working on this site Faces of a Lady - www.facesofalady.com. We are adding items as quickly as we receive them. In addition we are working on our newest site, The Kitchen Hutch - www.thekitchenhutch.com. Please check back for further information and updates. We are excited about all of our web stores!
